BJSS secures fifth AWS Competency – this time for its work in Healthcare

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Competency Program is designed to identify, validate, and promote AWS Partners with demonstrated AWS technical expertise and proven customer success.

BJSS has announced yet another AWS competency – this time focused on its expertise within healthcare.

Over the past ten years, BJSS has worked closely with healthcare providers such as the NHS, Care Fertility, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Servelec to help build innovation into their processes and support patients across the UK. Successful projects include:

    • Helping to apply Machine Learning models that identified an additional 1.7 million Clinically Extremely Vulnerable people to be added to the shielding list and prioritised for vaccinations. The project won the Florence Nightingale Award for Excellence in Healthcare Data Analytics, jointly awarded by the Health Foundation and the Royal Statistical Society.
    • Creating complex, critical, NHS-wide systems like the e-referrals and appointment booking platform, which led to a 50% reduction in missed appointments and £50.5m in annual cost savings to the NHS.
    • Developing the NHS App, the digital front door to localised NHS services used by 22 million registered users.
    • Developing robust learning models, and applying modern techniques in computer vision and time series analysis to help Care Fertility transform its embryo selection process.

Additionally, BJSS supported The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) with rolling out a scalable Enterprise Cloud platform spanning multi-cloud providers to speed up the delivery of cloud-based application workloads that underpins the NHS Test and Trace.

The Healthcare competency recognises the ground-breaking work that BJSS has undertaken within the healthcare sector and, along with four other AWS competencies in Government, DevOps, Migration, and Security, shows why BJSS is the chosen partner for healthcare providers looking to adopt AWS services.

According to Amazon Web Services, AWS Healthcare Competency Partners have demonstrated technical expertise and customer success in building healthcare solutions on AWS that securely store, process, transmit, and analyse clinical information.

The AWS Competency Program is a partner program that recognises Amazon Web Services (AWS) consulting partners who have demonstrated best-in-practice technical expertise in specialised topics within the AWS cloud.

Mohamed Zamzam, Cloud Migrations and Services Lead at BJSS, said: “Being a successful AWS Partner Network member within the Healthcare competency adds weight and credibility to our services and offerings as we continue to support healthcare providers such as the NHS and look to replicate our achievements in the US market and beyond. The competency is a stamp of approval we are really proud of, as it highlights our capabilities to deliver best-in-practice healthcare solutions for our clients."

“It’s also satisfying to be doing work that not only is beneficial from a business perspective, but also a human perspective too.”

Organisations can now benefit from BJSS Enterprise Cloud — a secure and scalable landing zone accelerator that has helped both public and private sector clients accelerate the journey to AWS.
