The BJSS Academy is our Early Careers pathway into technology, business consulting, and user research and design roles. On the programme you’ll be helping our clients conceive, design, build, and support business solutions for the digital age.
You'll be given a unique exposure to a variety of clients, industries, and project roles, supporting you through a structured and comprehensive programme of learning.
We’re looking for curious, bright-minded, and driven graduates who like to challenge the norm and push boundaries. To us, this doesn’t translate to a specific academic topic, which is why we welcome graduates from all disciplines, whether you hold a degree in Business, Art, or Sciences.
Graduates must have a 2:1 or above with excellent academic records. Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills and a keen interest in digital technology. You must have the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and communicate complex ideas effectively.
Well, firstly you join as an employee from day one. We don’t operate a “golden handcuffs” policy where you must pay back an amount of money for your training if you leave inside some arbitrary period. We believe people do their best work when they are trusted and empowered – so that’s exactly what we’ll give you.
As an employee, you’ll be subject to the same probation period of six months as everyone else, and get annual reviews and remuneration updates.
The bulk of our Consulting team is based from London so this will be your home office, however it is important you show willingness to travel and visit our clients in other locations as well as the ability to work remotely too. The level of flexibility will depend on the client project you are working on.
Within the first two weeks you will develop your core consulting skills, learning from industry-leading experts in the field. We will ensure you have exposure to all aspects of Management Consulting, and a broad variety of industries and services such as:
Your first two weeks at BJSS Consulting will consist of specifically-designed training on core consulting skills, which will set you up for success in your career.
The first three months are then considered our Incubator Programme. This is where you will be placed with your first client, as well as working on internal projects to improve your skills, and work with senior consultants as a shadow resource.
Within your first 18 months you will go through a blended-training pathway of structured learning as well as on-the-job training. This is where you will work directly with our clients and our high-performing teams.
You will have many people to support you through your journey as a Consultant. You’ll work closely with our Academy Co-ordinator throughout the first two weeks who will be delivering the vast majority of the training from the London office.
You’ll have a Squad Lead and they will be your ‘go-to-person’. They will be there to support with your career at BJSS, as well as approve holidays and enable your project preference. You’ll have regular one-to-ones with your Squad Lead to discuss your personal development and career.
You’ll also have a dedicated mentor who will invest time in you and your career ambitions. They will provide you with support and guidance with everything you need to be successful in your role.
BJSS Consulting will support you with your career development. In your first 18 months you will be considered an Associate Consultant, then post-18 months we will look to promote you to a Consultant within BJSS. Fortunately, BJSS has an open culture giving you the opportunity to experience different business areas, and BJSS will support with introducing you to the right people who can support with career development.
You will gain knowledge and understanding in all the different consulting areas through our rotation programme, and be supported to make the decision of the ‘right-track’ for you at the 18-month mark.
We’ve tried to keep the interview process as simple as possible and to give you the opportunity to let your skills and potential shine through. We are keen to hear about the capabilities and experience you have gained in a previous workspace, university, and/or extra-curricular activities.
Once you apply by submitting a copy of your CV, our friendly Talent Team will give you a call to find out more about you, give you further details about the role, and answer any initial questions you may have.
If you’re suitable for the role we will invite you to an interview where you will have the opportunity to speak with one of our experienced Consultants. We’ll discuss the role further, your strengths and skills you could bring to BJSS, and answer any further questions you have.
We’ll then invite you to an Assessment Day which will be a combination of a panel interview and a group activity. Here we will be assessing your ability to approach problems, present findings, articulate yourself, and engage the group effectively and with confidence.
