BJSS to create 70 local jobs with new Scottish hub

BJSS, the award-winning delivery-focused IT consultancy, today announces that it has expanded to Scotland with an immediate objective to recruit 70 highly-skilled IT consultants from the local area.

This team, based in the BJSS Scottish hub, will play a key delivery role for the company’s Scottish and global clients, as well as developing further business opportunities in the region. The facility will be led by a dedicated Head of Delivery, also recruited from the local area, who will report directly to a member of the BJSS board.

BJSS works with organisations such as NHS Digital, RBS, The Co-operative, ITV, BP and Lloyds Banking Group. Recent successes include a complete re-engineering of the NHS Spine 2 national healthcare infrastructure, and the development of a global trade matching system which facilitates six out of every 10 foreign exchange trades worldwide. BJSS has already secured its first major Scottish client, Disclosure Scotland, an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government, where it is delivering large-scale IT transformation.

In a further commitment to its investment in Scotland, BJSS has today joined the Scottish Business Pledge. This demonstrates the company’s dedication towards ethical business practices and supporting the Scottish Government’s aim of achieving greater equality, sustainability and innovation within the Scottish economy.

James Whitehouse, BJSS board director, said: “Scotland has a long-held reputation for innovation, access to large corporate clients, and a skilled talent pool from the largest concentration of universities in Europe. Our expansion to Scotland, our sixth UK location, provides us with a great opportunity to help local companies resolve their most complex IT and business issues. We look forward to welcoming professionals from Scotland to our existing team of 800 BJSS colleagues.”

Scottish Government Minister for Business, Innovation and Energy, Paul Wheelhouse, added: “BJSS’ plans to create 70 local jobs within its new Scottish hub shows the strength of the financial and business services sector in Scotland and is great news for the local economy in and around Glasgow. Furthermore, the company’s decision to make the Scottish Business Pledge shows that sustainable growth and commitment to fair working practices go hand in hand.”
