ABOUT THE EVENT

The pharmaceutical industry has played a leading role in the global response to the Covid-19 pandemic. In the urgent search for a vaccine, pharma companies have innovated and collaborated to dramatically accelerate processes that historically take an average 10-15 years. Within just 12 months of the WHO declaring COVID-19 a pandemic, we now have four vaccines approved for use and being rapidly rolled out across the UK.

Data analytics and AI are playing a major role in the disruption of a wide range of pharmaceutical processes, from drug discovery to trials, regulation and production. Data is also opening up transformational new business models such as personalised medicine, that could drive pharma companies to position themselves much closer to the patient or consumer.

In this panel session we explored:

    • How are pharma companies using data analytics and AI to disrupt the industry?
    • How will the COVID-19 pandemic change the pharma industry?
    • What is the future of the pharma industry and what role will data and AI play?
