My first project at BJSS was to ascertain whether the IT department of a French pharmaceutical wholesaler was too expensive. The CFO felt the department was too costly based on his experience. The CIO disagreed, and BJSS was brought in to provide an independent 3rd party view.

I was project lead and worked alongside an Enterprise Architect, to qualify the current value and the risks which would increase costs in the long term. My role also included benchmarking the IT costs and highlighting how Ways of Working were impacting the bottom line and speed of delivery. Following the assessment exercise, we were able to provide a range of qualified recommendations to future-proof the IT department and reduce costs.

Other projects I have supported include validating the digital transformation programme of a major engineering firm and building the IT strategy for leading UK gym chain. Other than working with a diverse range of clients, I’ve also been given the opportunity to build and co-create the various services and methodologies used by the Technology Consulting team.

Since joining BJSS I’ve been involved in a variety of projects. Including, for a major high-street optician, assessing if their in-place ecommerce architecture and the software engineering processes used by its supplier were mature enough to meet future needs. For an international pharmaceutical wholesaler, ascertaining whether the value being obtained from their technology estate was commensurate with its cost of operations. Through to designing architecture capable of supporting a new public facing registration service for a government organisation. Most recently, I’ve been involved in capturing the ‘as-is’ Vs ‘to-be’ people, technology and process landscape as we validate and assist in building the IT strategy for an international leisure and fitness centre chain.

As an Enterprise Architect, I’ve worked alongside colleagues from technology consulting, digital service design, software engineering, test and release management. I’ve also lead client facing aspects during engagements as focus moves from understanding business needs and current pain points to developing strategic roadmaps and solutions.

Including authoring architecture areas of reports and presenting results to CxO level audience. In addition to working with a diverse range of clients from both the public and private sector, I’ve also had the opportunity to build out the tools and methodologies used by the Technology Consulting team and contribute to the creation of tender responses and proposals.
