A dedicated mentor to help with your career planning

Graduate Software Engineers and QA Analysts

BJSS Academy provides training and support tailored to your needs

International clients across multiple industry sectors

Unlike other schemes, our Graduates are full-time, permanent BJSS employees so you won’t have to reapply for a role once you have completed the BJSS Academy.

Opportunities are available in our Leeds, Manchester and Bristol Project Centres.

What projects will I be involved with?

Our clients operate in various industries. You can expect to contribute to a live project on your first day, becoming increasingly ‘hands-on’ over the weeks that follow.

How will I be rewarded?

Our Graduates benefit from a very competitive salary package, holiday entitlement, pension, and optional private medical insurance. You’ll also receive support in gaining certified financial training and ISTQB qualifications.

How will I be supported?

The Programme is designed to help you make the most of your potential. As soon as you start, we’ll assign you a mentor who will support you throughout. Teamwork is vital to our projects. So it’s in our nature to work together towards common goals. Your colleagues will always be ready to share their experience and knowledge with you and will help to solve your day-to-day challenges.

Are there any social activities to enjoy?

Whatever your interests, in many locations, there’s likely to be a BJSS sports, interest, and social group that would be keen to welcome you. You can also attend BJSS functions such as our coding challenges, monthly socials, or the annual weekend event.

Which BJSS locations run the programme?

Opportunities are available in the BJSS Leeds, Manchester and Bristol Project Centres.

Alumni of the BJSS Graduate Programme

Ryan

BSc Computing, University of Leeds

I joined the BJSS Graduate Programme fresh from university in the summer of 2007. On my first day I was part of the team delivering a high-profile global FX Trading platform – it was an amazing learning opportunity! Since then I’ve moved around different roles on the project from development, to technical testing, spending a year working on a client’s site and then moving in to a role which leads towards management. It’s been good to try these different roles. With this experience I’ve built up in a lot of areas, I can now choose from several paths to progress my career.

François

MSc Engineering, Nottingham Trent University

The great thing about the BJSS Graduate Programme is that you get to work on a wide range of challenging projects. I joined the 2010 intake and was tasked with developing a crucial component of an international trading platform. This is an awesome amount of responsibility and really accelerates you professionally. I’m still working with BJSS where I’m now an experienced Software Engineer and a mentor to fresh graduates joining the Programme.

Steph

MPhys & BSc Physics, University of Leeds

My first assignment on the BJSS Graduate programme was to test the fully rewritten NHS Hospital Episodes System. At first it was a steep learning curve, but I was supported throughout by my project team and mentor. The project was full of victories and a couple of months after delivery the system won two awards! BJSS has a level of trust and responsibility that is hard to find in other graduate programmes. The culture here is friendly and approachable, and with the great range of social activities I’ve made some great new friends too!

Charles

BSc Computer Science, University of Sheffield

I joined the BJSS Graduate Programme after completing my BSc Computer Science at the University of Sheffield and an LLM in Information Technology Law from the University of Edinburgh. There’s a huge opportunity to grow in BJSS. After completing the Progamme I moved to London where I delivered an FX trading platform. Now I’m working in America on secondment to BJSS New York. The BJSS Graduate Programme is a fantastic opportunity that recognises and nurtures talent.
