BJSS was founded in Leeds, UK in 1993 by Andrew Vincent and Mark Hunter. From the outset the company differentiated itself by the technical excellence of its people and a passionate culture of service. This approach has seen the company grow to nearly 600 people with offices across the UK and in the US, delivering a wide range of IT services and tackling some of the most complex challenges in a variety of markets. Today, Mark and Andrew continue their active involvement in the business, which continues to grow whilst remaining true to their original vision.

1993 - BJSS Established

The small founding team of software engineers shared a vision of delivering IT solutions in a better way.

1994 - 1997

1997: Delivery of a Front Office Equity Trading system.

1994: First major Financial Markets delivery - the Vienna Stock Exchange.

2001 - 2004

2002: BJSS expands beyond Leeds with a new office in London.

2001: Global FX & Trade Capture System delivered to a global information provider.

2004: BJSS introduces its new Test and QA service offering.

2004: BJSS delivers a secure European trade settlement system.

2007: BJSS delivers a FIX-based Trade Reporting System to the London Stock Exchange

2007: BJSS welcomes its 100th member of staff

Glynn Robinson

Managing Director

I’m responsible for the strategic direction of the company together with the day-to-day running of the business. I started my career as an academic obtaining a PhD in Computer Science from the University of London and undertaking post-doctoral research in Computer Vision at Yale University. Over the last 20 years I have worked in the IT supply sector, in the UK and US, for a number of industries including financial markets, automotive, manufacturing, energy, logistics, and retail. While living in the US, I was held-up at gunpoint by a gang who wanted my bike. They didn’t get the bike, but nothing has proved as scary since!

James Whitehouse

Head of Client Services - Southern UK

A delivery guy at heart and a member of the Board of Directors, my focus is on ensuring our people have everything they need to deliver exceptional assignments for our clients in the South of the UK. I’m also responsible for delivery assurance, commercial, account management and business development activities. I began my career in banking and consulting with the “Big 4”. After a spell with a niche programme delivery consultancy, I co-founded, grew and eventually sold a technology house before joining BJSS – a company I’d admired for many years. When not working you will find me at home ‘relaxing’ with my wife and two little girls, who keep me more than occupied.  Any spare time is taken up with a variety of sporting endeavours – admittedly these days more spectating than participating – early morning rapid-fire 18 holes of golf excepted.

I started my career in 1990 as a software developer and progressed through many roles, including managing the South African division of one of the world’s largest Independent Software Consultancy firms. Outside of BJSS I really enjoy haring around a track on my motorbike and when my kids give me some time, running around a squash court like a madman!
