BJSS developed an automated protocol testing system for testing FIX 4.0 client implementations with a web based front end. The systems provide access to and analysis of log files produced at a remote server with a facility to run a small interpreter executing scripts on the server. These scripts generate messages that the client under test must react to.

 

A facility is provided to remotely run a number of shell scripts on the UNIX server. The system was developed entirely in Java using RMI to communicate between the client applet and the server. The Interpreter communicates with the server using existing HTTP based servlets to encapsulate messages to and from a Rendezvous based messaging protocol.
